Ras Klamps is an internationally acclaimed keyboardist, composer, arranger, and artist-producer.
Ras Klamps, aka Noel Aiken from Port Antonio, Jamaica, is celebrated in the reggae music universe, having been bestowed the name 'Klamps' by Junior Mervin to recognize his ability to 'tighten up the grove' for any band he plays with.
Klamps' was the keyboardist of the legendary Maccabee band backing Rita Marley for 15 years; and has shared the stage with international stars The Original Wailers, Third World, Burning Spear, Dub Syndicate, Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs, Culture, Abyssinians, and Dawn Penn.
Klamps has produced studio albums for Culture, One Stone and Trust Me. Erney Smiths Step Up, and the Marley family album. When producing his own music, the creative process of Klamps pushes the boundaries of the 'Caribbean Afro' heart and soul.
Anchored by traditional reggae rhythms, Klamps pioneered a new music genre that deliberately entangles other music universes such as jazz, rock, house, and electronica. He educates the ear by cultivating an unconventional tapestry of sounds that delivers an eclectic listening experience - ambient, eccentric, and sensuous.
